Maruti Suzuki India Limited has unveiled its latest model car, A-Star in the Kerala markets.

Maruti's A-Star is the biggest car launch of the year, especially since the car market is witnessing a serious slowdown in sales. It’s a small car with massive headlamps, a contemporary styling we are not used to in these types of car. Moving on towards the back, it’s good looking, specially the tail lamp cluster which is huge and bulges out. Hatch door latch is tiny and bumper comes up significantly higher.

The back of the car looks more attractive than its front. The new car is nice and compact with good wheel-base. It very different from others. Of course, most of the future cars are going to be unconventional.

Unconventional styling or not, what really surprises in the A-Star is the build-quality of the car. It looks much better in overall materials than what one is used to from Maruti.

The car's going to take on Hyundai’s i10 and Chevrolet’s Spark and with Maruti’s huge network and trusted brand name, it looks like another hit from the Maruti.

The showroom price in Kochi of the A-Star is Rs.3,47,813 (for Lxi model), Rs.3,75,921 (for Vxi model) and Rs.4,12,921 (for Zxi model).
